Well only to be expected! A couple of minor setbacks.
I have this cheap but handy little tripod, that's ideal for the trip. Never used it as the little square foot that screws to the base of the camera and locks into the pan housing on the tripod is missing. I spent months searching for the correct part, but in then end ordered on the basis of best guesstimation !! The item arrived today!! Not even in the same ball park. Will have a word with supplier as it doesn't even to look like the part I ordered!
Follow up:
I currently have a 1gig Flash memory card in the S7000. Nice, but I thought that as it only can store 12.5 mins of video I'd boost that up a bit for the trip. Searched the net, read up and eventually ordered an 8gig card. Only to find once I tried it out that Fuji has capped the S7000 at 2 gig. NO Mention of this in any of the supporting literature! You can, I understand, upgrade the camera's operating system - using software form Fuji at a cost of over 100£ !!!! No thank you! So its sell this and buy 4x2gig'ers I guess! A well it could have been worse!I know I'm going to be resilient to setbacks - a venture like the one I'm undertaking wont conclude with out many such events. As the saying goes... A good plan is a plan that you can change!!
