The UK, as with many of the old established western countries, claims the high ground when it comes to 'democracy'. However over the last decade and more, we have seen the political ear drifting markedly away from the majority view, the voice of the masses, to the loud and disproportionate screams of minority interest groups . No longer democracy, no longer even meritocracy, but minocracy ..... rule by the will of those who shout loudest. The easy block vote that the professional self seeking politician cant ignore!

Now as the Arab uprising demonstrates, the masses have tools that allow their collective voices  to be directed in a focused and forceful manner. Placing our 'leaders' under greater scrutiny and accountability. Not a bad thing I say!

Web based pressure networks such as 38degrees have had some major successes altering government runaway legislation, but some dinosaurs still think they live in Victorian England or colonial Ghana maybe!?

This scumbag minister is trying desperately to avoid disclosing information from a critical internal report  about the consequences of his proposed health service reforms. Members of 38 degrees have mailed their MP's to have them question his skulduggerous actions.
